We are having difficulty re-applying for Medicare. I asked Gavin to hand-carry documents to the Hemet Social Security Office. This is the sight that greeted him.

Elders Simonton and Kinikini

This is a bulletin board I've kept during our time in Canada. I took everything down today.

As we drove to the office today I sensed that something was different with my feet.

This past Friday we drove to Hinton (three hours west of Sherwood Park) and stayed the night. Yesterday we drove the Icefields Parkway, returning home last night. It was a magnificent drive, full of dynamic scenery and wildlife. One more item off our bucket list.

Elk

Mountain Sheep

Black Bear

Bald Eagle

We were hoping to see Caribou, Moose, and deer, but no luck.

Talbot Lake. We heard a bull elk bugle from this location

Columbia Glacier (a glacier is an extended mass of ice formed from snow falling and accumulating over the years and moving very slowly). This glacier has receded 1.2 miles since 1844.

To the right of Columbia Glacier is the Dome Glacier. Melting snow from this glacier flows into three oceans, north to the Arctic, west to the Pacific, and east to the Atlantic.

Elder and Sister Hill serve as housing coordinators for the mission. A sister companionship informed them that their tub did not drain well. This photograph shows the hair Elder Hill removed from the tub's drain.

We received the following emails and photographs from Robyn:

"We got our wedding pictures today and thought we'd share a few of our favorites.

Today is our last official honeymoon day since Alan goes back to work tomorrow.  We stayed at The Chateaux at Deer Valley the first night, and then spent a few days in Sun Valley.  We went on a beautiful drive and did a 24 mile bike ride from Ketchum to Hailey!  I'm still sore.  As we drove back to Utah on Saturday we took the long way and drove through Preston and Logan.  Alan has been officially welcomed to the Gossner squeaky cheese and root beer milk club.  We got back on Saturday and have been trying to get some things organized at home and did a pretty hike yesterday in Bell Canyon.  It has been so fun!

Thanks again for coming.  It really was a very sweet day for me to have you all here.  Sure do love you everybody!"

Draper Utah Temple

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, our daughter Robyn was married to Alan Calderon in the Draper Temple. On Sunday, June 10 we attended the broadcast, "Music and the Spoken Word," with Alan and Robyn. That evening we had dinner with Alan's family. Monday, June 11, we had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square with everyone in our family but Chandler. Following the marriage ceremony invited guests and family had a luncheon at Archibald's Restaurant in Gardner's Village. It was great to have Robyn's brothers and their families come to Utah to be a part of her special day.

Robyn and Alan were part of a skit at Ricks College. Robyn is middle left and Alan lower right.
